Sachin Tendulkar Injured - Unlikely to Play 4th One Day

Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar who scored an unbeaten 163 in the 3rd one day at Christchurch is unlikely to feature in the Indian squad that will take on New Zealand in the 4th One Dayer at Hamilton on the 11th March. Tendulkar got hit on his stomach when he was in his sixties but went on to add another 100 runs before he decided it was not possible to continue any further.

Tendulkar was quoted saying that he felt a stiffening in his stomach and was especially hurting when he was running . Sachin felt that he would likely injure himself further when trying to heave the ball in the end overs, and hence decide to retire hurt when a first ever double hundres in one day cricket was a likely possibility.

Thanks to that 43rd hundred by Tendulkar, and ample support from Yuvraj, Dhoni and Raina, India went on to score 392 runs and win the match by 58 runs. India thus ensured that they can’t lose the one day series from here on, and need to win one of the remaining two one dayers to win the series.
