In a shocking incident in Lahore, where the 1st test match is being played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, six Sri Lanka cricketers ( or five crickets and an assistant coach) were injured in a terrorist attack on their team bus as they were making their way to the Gadaffi Stadium.  While the exact number of Sri Lankan cricketers injured is still unconfirmed, we do know that one of the crickters (or staff member of the Sri Lanka cricket squad) has been hit by a bullet in the chest while another has been hit in his thigh area. These two are still being treated in a Lahore hospital while the others may have been fortunate in escaping with minor injuries.

The attack on the Sri Lankan cricket squad looked like a pre-planned attack, and incuded grenade blasts and heavy gunfire in the heart of Lahore. The names of the Sri Lankan cricketers who may have been injured are Kumar Sangakkara, assistan coach of Sri Lanka team Paul Fabrace, Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Samaraweera and Tharanga Paravithana. Some news sources are also quoting the name of Sri Lanka captain Jayawardene amongst the list of cricketers injured, but again the news in not confirmed.
